Atomy has embarked on humanitarian support, hoping for rapid relief for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On February 2, Atomy donated 140,000 face masks to the City of Wuhan and Yantai, which was facing difficulties in supply and demand for quarantine supplies due to COVID-19 and is planning on donating 50,000 more face masks (190,000 total, approximately 130,000 USD worth).
The face masks donated by Atomy are going to be delivered to frontline workers at centers for disease control, as well as residents.
On July 19, the Chinese Embassy in South Korea expressed gratitude for donated face masks, which are essential in preventing the spread of the virus.
Xing Haiming, the Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, said, “After the COVID-19 outbreak, various walks of Korea have been providing material and moral support to overcome COVID-19. We surely will conquer it thanks to the help from the global community, including Korea."
Chariman Han-Gill Park added, “Korea and China are the closest neighbors. We should help each other and go through hardships together. Being a global distribution company, Atomy is planning to open Atomy China this year. I hope the pandemic situation is relieved quickly and Atomy can take part in contributing to China’s distribution industry."
