The Interview questions were asked after the gifts were presented.
Star Master Mi-Sook Kim who loves to share, meets Atomy
Star Master Kim's family was relatively well-off when she was growing up. She says that her parents always gave gifts to their guests. Her parents had always sent gifts along with Kim when she was visiting other people's homes. Kim was fond of sharing, and she was proud of her parents who had taught her such a culture. Twenty years ago, not a lot of people gave small donations, but even at the time, those around Kim had practiced giving small donations. Her husband's company co-workers and acquaintances in church are a few examples. Kim and her husband had even pledged to donate their organs later on. Star Master Mi-Sook Kim who loves to share, has finally met Atomy.
Sharing that is possible for Atomians
To Star Master Kim, who loves events and sharing with others, Atomy was more than just a business.
This is her fourth time taking part in the briquette sharing volunteer work that was started in 2015. The event is hosted mutually by various organizations. The event started out with only 5,000 briquettes, but now it has increased to 10,000 briquettes. "My partners also tell me that they feel a sense of reward as they are able to volunteer to finish the year strong. I feel the same way too. I am once again touched by Atomy's culture of sharing and United Heart."
When Star Master Kim goes for a lecture to other centers or to overseas, she never forgets to bring a small gift. The gift maybe a small hand-mirror, a book, a handkerchief, a scarf, or even a pouch. And she gives the gift as a surprise to those she meets with a bright smile. Knowing the joy of sharing with others, Kim always shares at the end of her lecture about Atomy's sharing culture. "I decided to become Santa Clause for all twelve months of the year. This is only possible here in Atomy because I have to meet and communicate with people all the time."
Currently, Mi-Sook Kim regularly donates to various charities and organizations such as Good Neighbors, World Vision, Plan Korea, Community Chest of Korea, and to City of Daejeon. Kim says that she decided to donate to City of Daejeon following the advice of President Park who said to start giving to those nearby. All of Kim's donations are for children's organizations, and she said that it is her heart to allow her grandchildren to become friends with such children. Kim's grandchildren who are 7 and 10 years old, participate in the briquette sharing event every year. Kim says she hopes her grandchildren can learn from her the culture of sharing as she had learned from her parents.
Culture of donation and sharing - nothing special and not too difficult
"There is no special reason why I share with others. It is not something special, but rather something that should be done naturally. I am happy to be able to share with others. My wish is to be able to share with more people."
Kim says that if she had not met Atomy, she would not have been able to share so much as she is doing now. She added that if she becomes Imperial Master, she would donate 10% of her wealth. "The effect that 10,000 KRW can have on me and on others who are less fortunate, is different. That amount may be only a few cups of coffee for me, but for others on the other side of the world, it might be a month's worth of food. I hope more people will be able to realize this. Sharing and donating is not a difficult thing at all.
